Vice President - Legal & Regulatory, Private Equity
The Brookfield Private Equity Group has a 20-year track record of consistently generating strong investment performance and regularly engaging in large, complex and unique transactions. Leveraging its deep experience as a long-term owner and operator of world-class assets, the Private Equity team is focused on acquiring high-quality businesses and enhancing their cash flow capabilities by improving strategy and execution.

About the Position:
The Vice President, Legal & Regulatory will be responsible for coordinating Private Equity's global legal, governance and regulatory strategies across all levels of the group, including our publicly traded vehicle, Brookfield Business Partners (BBU), as well as our various private funds and portfolio company investments. The position will report to the Managing Director, Legal & Regulatory, and will work closely with various Private Equity constituencies, including the investment and business operations teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity in a dynamic environment for an ambitious individual with a hands-on approach to become an integral part of the Brookfield Private Equity Group.

Qualifications:
To qualify, candidates must:

  1. Be called to the Bar in Ontario, New York or equivalent in another Canadian or United States jurisdiction, with 4-10 years of relevant legal experience
  2. High achiever that thrives in a demanding environment
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice and recommendations
  4. Be well organized, thoughtful, analytical and self-motivated
  5. Have a keen interest in developing creative solutions to interesting and complex issues
  6. Be comfortable working independently, as well as part of a team
  7. Travel will be required of the person filling the role
