The Vice President, Information Technology is responsible for aligning information technology with strategic business objectives to meet the current and evolving needs of the organization. As a key member of the executive team, the VP IT develops plans and initiatives to support the overall success of the business in alignment with our values, priorities and organizational needs. Ensuring the security of our data and systems, the VP IT drives innovation, customer experience and revenue by leveraging technology to improve speed of service, accuracy and service delivery. The VP IT will lead digital transformation and collaboration tools to help our team compete in an environment of continuous technological change.

The job involves:

  1. Overall leadership, strategic direction, and successful operation of the Information Technology department.
  2. Working with the Executive and Operations Leaders to build digital discipline across the enterprise - not just in IT.
  3. Overseeing the design and execution of efficient system architecture to maximize ROI and minimize costs.
  4. Leading the development and execution of the IT strategic plan in collaboration with operations and the IT Leadership team.
  5. Aligning IT priorities and projects with strategic business objectives and resources.
  6. Ensuring timelines, scope of projects and budgets are consistently achieved.
  7. Developing capital budgets; providing accurate and timely forecasts and budget information to the Chief Financial Officer.
  8. Maintaining the integrity, reliability, and security of all systems and builds organization awareness and strength in cyber-security.
  9. Promoting a performance-based culture within IT focused on delivering excellent customer service to all departments.
  10. Ensuring new systems and upgrade projects adhere to our IT policies and industry best practices.
  11. Ensuring effective and efficient IT policies and procedures are maintained, audited and enhanced.
  12. Defining and improving all system and network operations processes.
  13. Ensures timely and accurate delivery of technology products and services.
  14. Working closely with Purchasing to interact and negotiate with vendors to procure cost effective technology products and services.
  15. Negotiating contracts with manufacturers for all software, hardware and consulting services, hold vendors accountable for delivery of products.
  16. Managing positive external vendor relationships and services.
  17. Maintaining a high level of technical expertise and knowledge of current products.
  18. Researching and leveraging new technologies to transform business outcomes to process automation.
  19. Recommending new technology products and services to add value to our customers and enhance the organization/business.
  20. Providing leadership coaching, career development and professional guidance to team members to ensure future succession planning.
  21. Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation.

The ideal candidate has:

  1. College or University degree in Information Technology or Systems Engineering.
  2. Ten (10) years of multi-disciplined IT experience showing increasing levels of management and technical responsibility.
  3. Ten (10) years of multi-functional leadership experience with diverse portfolio.
  4. Five (5) years' experience in the gaming or complex hospitality industry an asset.
  5. Highly advanced analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  6. Well-developed and sophisticated communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage relations at various levels within an organization.
  7. Requires a strong and dynamic leadership style with a focus on meeting strategic business objectives.
  8. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  9. Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  10. Strong change management and critical thinking skills.
  11. Demonstrated track record of technical and business acumen, leadership, and innovation.
  12. Demonstrated financial and budget skills, strong negotiation skills.
