Veterinary Technician

We are seeking to add a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to our team of caring individuals. As our Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing our patients and clients with a high level of care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a clinic where you can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.

Duties include:

1. Assist the veterinarian in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
2. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
3. Complete in-house lab tests using Idexx blood machines, such as full panels and Sedivue urinalysis. Prepare samples for outside lab testing.
4. Perform digital radiographs and complete consults with radiologists when needed.
5. Anesthetic induction and monitoring during procedures.
6. Provide post-operative care and recovery.
7. Educate pet parents on proper animal care, medication administration, and diet discussions.
8. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using our AVImark software.
9. Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
10. Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and cycle counts.

Qualifications:

1. Certification as a Veterinary Technician (Registration preferred; willing to help new grads or those working towards registration).
2. Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desired, but onsite training is provided to new grads.
3. Proficient knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
6. Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals.
7. Ability to handle and restrain animals.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
