We are seeking to add a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to our team of caring individuals. As our Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing our patients and clients with a high level of care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a clinic where you can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
Duties include:
- Assist the veterinarian in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Complete in-house lab tests using Idexx blood machines, such as full panels and Sedivue urinalysis. Prepare samples for outside lab testing.
- Perform digital radiographs and complete consults with radiologists when needed.
- Anesthetic induction and monitoring during procedures.
- Provide post-operative care and recovery.
- Educate pet parents on proper animal care, medication administration, and diet discussions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using our AVImark software.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and cycle counts.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (Registration preferred; willing to help new grads or those working towards registration).
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desired, but onsite training is provided to new grads.
- Proficient knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals.
- Ability to handle and restrain animals.
