Veterinary Reception, Animal Care Attendant

Secord Animal Hospital welcomes an experienced Veterinary Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant to join our team! This is an exceptional full-time opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated!

Responsibilities:

1. Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment.
2. Remaining calm and adaptable in stressful situations.
3. Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures, and assist the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments.
4. Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively.
5. Scheduling appointments; admitting and discharging pet patients.
6. Invoicing / billing; creating estimates and processing payments.
7. Providing compassionate care duties including feeding and walking patients.
8. General cleanliness maintenance in reception, pet holding areas, and common spaces.

Qualifications:

1. A Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate is an asset.
