The PuSh International Performing Arts Festival is Vancouver’s signature, mid-winter cultural event, taking place each January in theatres and venues across the city. PuSh presents groundbreaking, contemporary works of theatre, dance, music, and multimedia by acclaimed local, national, and international artists. Learn more at pushfestival.ca.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Patron Services and Administration Manager, the Venue Box Office Representative is responsible for transporting and setting up box office equipment at festival venues, selling tickets, and issuing will call at 2025 PuSh Festival shows. The Venue Box Office Representative provides professional support to the Patron Services Manager and Box Office Coordinator and acts as an advocate of the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival Society to arts professionals, various stakeholders, and the community at large.

Highlights of the Position:

  • Compensation: $25 per hour
  • Flexible hours - 4-10 shifts of 2-4 hrs during January 23-February 9
  • Estimated Contract Hours: 18-30
  • Temporary contract

Responsibilities:

This seasonal contract position includes the following responsibilities:

  1. Participate in Accessibility Training facilitated by the Accessible PuSh Coordinator
  2. Attend box office orientation and training sessions
  3. Transport and set up box office equipment at festival venues
  4. Print and issue will call tickets
  5. Sell tickets at festival venues before shows
  6. Uphold all PuSh box office and ticketing policies
  7. Act as PuSh point of contact for Venue Volunteers and train them in necessary ticketing processes, including ticket scanning
  8. Ensure the highest possible level of customer service in all box office transactions
  9. Participate in the Festival and other activities as necessary

Qualifications:

Attributes We Seek:

  • Enthusiasm for connecting audiences with transformational art experiences
  • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, and adaptability
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Must be able and willing to work hours as required by the festival, including weekends and evenings

Candidates Experience:

  • Box Office experience, including with ticketing software
  • Customer service experience
  • The position involves lifting and moving equipment and boxes up to 20lbs

Exceptional Candidates will have:

  • Experience with Theatre Manager database and ticketing system
  • Comfort with Mac computers
  • A class 5 driver’s license
