Position

We’re looking for full-time Maintenance Vehicle Technicians at the Eglinton/York operations site. Could it be you?

Your Future Role

As a Vehicle Technician, you are responsible for providing field support for maintenance, repairs, and/or operation of vehicles in line with specified Quality standards and procedures.

As this is an industrial work environment, physical demands are in consequence (work at heights, lifting, prolonged standing, etc.). Flexibility to work on different shifts will be needed to meet operational requirements.

While interacting daily with co-workers, external suppliers/contractors, and management, all activities will be performed in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as prescribed by legislation and the ALSTOM Health, Safety & Environment policies.

Responsibilities

1. Complying with and enforcing EHSS policies and rules
2. Performing various maintenance activities on vehicles
3. Ensuring all information, equipment/parts are available and prepared for efficient execution
4. Reporting activities through a Computerized Maintenance Management System
5. Carrying out daily inspection of the Fleet

Expectations

1. Technical leadership to assist/train other technicians
2. Reporting and recording incidents, any damage or shortage of parts of electromechanical equipment accurately
3. Supervising and/or following any subcontract activities
4. Participating in rescue operations of the vehicle in case of accident or major failure

Qualifications

1. Formal training and solid hands-on experience on various electro-mechanical systems
2. Certified automotive technician and/or railway industry experience preferred
3. EHS champion and field expert
4. Ability to use high power tools and operate heavy machinery
5. Flexibility and availability to work on 24/7 rotational shifts
6. Strong supporter of teamwork with good communication & computer skills
