The UI Designer will play a pivotal role in designing visually appealing and user-centric web and mobile pages while managing content updates and ensuring the synchronization of localized content across the various Sobeys Inc. (all banners) consumer facing digital platforms. This role will coordinate content launches and work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution and adherence to timelines. The expertise of the UI designer in AEM will be key to delivering seamless digital experiences that align with business goals.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

  • Drive creativity and innovation while shaping a design vision that aligns with business objectives, user needs, and emerging industry trends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work with accuracy and precision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of AEM components, templates, and authoring workflows.
  • Solid understanding of responsive design principles and experience with mobile-first design practices.
  • Basic understanding of Next.JS and React Native.
  • A strong portfolio showcasing web/UI design work, particularly in AEM or similar CMS platforms.

What you have to offer:

  • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designer role or similar.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other design tools.
  • Familiarity with web design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma) and video editing software is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of AODA/WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of CSS/SCSS.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize, Google Data Studio and Google Analytics.
  • Experience working with AI is also a plus.
