They are hiring for a talented Land Use Planner to join their Calgary team. This firm has an excellent track record, a strong reputation, and a very collaborative and progressive work environment.

THE ROLE

In this role as an Intermediate or Senior Planner with land development experience, you will possess an in-depth understanding of the City of Calgary’s planning application process and a strong ability to navigate development approvals. This role is perfect for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial individual eager to push boundaries and pioneer new approaches to urban development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Spearhead and oversee the approval process for diverse development projects.
• Craft compelling planning applications and submissions for the City of Calgary.
• Engage with stakeholders, leading dynamic outreach activities.
• Develop and refine visually striking graphic presentations.
• Collaborate across disciplines to craft forward-thinking solutions and meet ambitious project goals.
• Maintain meticulous records and documentation related to approvals and permits.
• Anticipate and proactively tackle potential challenges in the approval process.
• Partner with clients and consultants, providing strategic planning insights and project management support under the guidance of an Associate or Principal.
• Contribute to the development of innovative proposals in collaboration with senior leadership.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• Passionate urban innovator with a Professional degree in Planning or a related field (Master’s level preferred).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience navigating urban development and approvals.
• Possess an understanding of the City of Calgary planning policies and approval frameworks.
• Experience working with planning for developer-driven projects.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, boundless energy, and a bold, creative mindset for reshaping cities and landscapes.
