Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the Underground Trainer is part of the Training Department and collaborates with other departments of the mine. He/she will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved, while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Responsibilities
Participate and assist in daily morning meeting with the training team;
Deliver training programs related to Health & Safety, equipment and processes;
Plan and organize employee training and evaluations with the concerned departments;
Regularly follow-up on the employees’ performance by setting up meetings with the concerned departments;
Assist with required evaluations of the mine operators (evaluation for candidate selection, assessment for class change, evaluation for employee promotion);
Ensure a thorough verification, application, and development of training content based on procedures, rules and regulations;
Work in accordance with training standards established within the company;
Track and update employee training data by using the different training platforms;
Document and provide information to be shared with the cross-shift and supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Trainer in a similar industrial environment (Mining experience would be an asset);
Must have a good understanding and knowledge of operations on underground mining equipment;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;
Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on the SPEEXX English language assessment.
Your Work Schedule
Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities of the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
