Position Summary

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing technical activities of the Ultrasound Service at the OSMH while ensuring patient safety.

Qualifications

  1. Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology program
  2. Member in good standing with the CMRITO
  3. Member in good standing with either Sonography Canada or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) is preferred
  4. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist required
  5. Must have proven experience with all techniques and the operation of ultrasound equipment
  6. Demonstrated ability to function independently
  7. Demonstrated computer literacy
  8. Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  9. Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task efficiently
  10. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
  11. Demonstrated knowledge of proper and safe handling and use of all equipment within the department
  12. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Improvement Programs
  13. Demonstrated knowledge/education in MSK scanning
  14. Demonstrates commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development through Continuing Education Programs and Self Directed Learning Opportunities
