About the position

As a full-time Ultrasound Technician, you will perform procedures associated with the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment services provided by Anova. Your tasks will include performing high-quality ultrasound studies; conducting complete female assessments, including endo-vaginal scan, follicular monitoring, obstetrical scanning of all stages of pregnancy (early viability, OB/NT scans); and assisting physicians in ultrasound-guided procedures. You will ensure that documentation is accurate, accessible, and filed correctly. Shifts are typically between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and weekends. Success in this role requires a combination of empathy, care, and skill. Crucially, you will share the Founder, Dr. Dixon’s commitment to being the gold standard for successful reproductive health and fertility centres. This position reports to the Ultrasound Supervisor.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Perform high-quality ultrasound studies, adhering to standards as prescribed by regulatory authorities.
2. Perform complete female assessments and obstetrical scanning at all stages of pregnancy, and assist physicians in ultrasound-guided procedures.
3. Demonstrate empathetic, kind, and friendly approach to patient care.
4. Anticipate and handle day-to-day workload and ensure that preparations and procedures are performed effectively and to the highest possible standard.
5. Identify abnormal patient conditions and alert supervisor, physicians, or nurses of such conditions promptly.
6. Record ultrasound findings and provide initial interpretation to medical staff.
7. Ensure proper set-up of ultrasound equipment to produce optimal visualization of structures and comply with safety and security procedures.
8. Assist with maintenance of ultrasound equipment and cleaning of ultrasound rooms.
9. Prepare site for visitation by Independent Health Facility program or any other body that Anova depends on for certification and licensing.
10. Ensure that records are current, correct, complete, and traceable.
11. Maintain clinical competence through practice, education, and research.

Qualifications and Requirements

1. Successful completion of ultrasound training program.
2. Current registration with CMRTO, ARDMS, and/or Sonography Canada.
3. At least two (2) years of experience, including extensive transvaginal scanning, scanning all stages of pregnancy, and working in a team environment.
4. Track record of regular and punctual attendance and schedule adherence.
5. Proficient in relevant computer software, including MS Office.
6. Familiar with Colour Doppler, sonohysterography, and 3D ultrasound.
7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Strong time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to explain procedures to patients and check for understanding.
10. Thoroughness and keen attention to detail.
11. Availability to work outside of regular business hours and participate in weekend and statutory holiday rotations.

Hours of Operation

37.5 hours per week, work schedule 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., weekend and holiday rotation as required.
