We’re looking to bring onboard a Director of Engineering who will not only manage and care for our people, but who will also provide comprehensive technical input on current and future product development goals. This position will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do day to day
- Lead the engineering team, ensuring they have the resources needed to be successful.
- Development and recruitment.
- Manage projects including setting scope, budgets, timelines, resource management, and fulfillment.
- Align business goals with the company’s technical capabilities.
- Research technologies and provide direction on how to optimize current and future projects.
- Work with Executive Leadership to make decisions for operational activities and execute strategic planning and goals for the business.
- Define and develop architectural plans for technical milestones.
- Cultivate policies and procedures that work across our production and non-production systems.
- Consult with clients – build relationships, discuss requirements, lend expertise.
- Develop architectural road maps for our product development, with a lens of sustainability.
- Plan in the big picture, looking ahead at the 2-year road map, while maintaining support in the day to day.
- Support implementation and adherence to various compliance programs (ISO 27001, ISO 13485, GDPR, etc).
- Act intentionally to not just oversee the department, but to grow it in a sustainable way.

Qualifications - Who you are day to day / What you need to get the job
- 3+ years in a technical leadership position (people and / or projects).
- 5+ years experience in various aspects of software development.
- C++, C#, and / or Python.
- Software licensing.
- SaaS products.
- 5+ years experience with cloud technologies.
- Storage systems and backup solutions.
- Hands-on experience with compliance and regulatory standards.
- An understanding of the difference between leadership and management.
