Tutors - High School Math *In-Person*

The Academy for Mathematics and English is a proud Canadian Company with 30 years of international experience in tutoring students of all levels of ability, from Grade 1 to University Preparation, in Mathematics, English and Science.

Academy tutors are carefully selected and trained to ensure the most effective academic results for our students.

The Barrie location is looking for a passionate part-time tutor who can tutor Elementary-level English and Math (particularly, grades SK-5). Bonus if you can tutor at a higher level as well.

Qualifications:

• Certified teacher, or a University degree in the subject matter. Student teachers welcome.
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience is required.
• Must be available to work at least 2 days per week. The Academy tutoring hours are Monday-Thursday 4:00pm-7:30pm, and Saturdays 10:00am-12:30pm. All tutoring is in-person at the Barrie Academy (555 Essa Rd, located at Mapleton and Essa).

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-three tutoring sessions in English and Math to elementary-aged students, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
• Be engaging and quick on your feet and able to adapt in a fast-paced educational environment. Passion for student understanding is a must!
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance understanding and build student confidence.
• Foster a positive and engaging learning environment, encouraging student participation and motivation.
• Collaborate with administrators to support student development and address any learning challenges.
• Utilize computer skills to enhance teaching methods and track student performance.
