Truck Driver - Highway

Position Summary

Operates commercial truck - Flat Bed to transport Utility Poles and other materials to and from specified destinations by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Delivers to customer yards and job site locations including multiple provinces, cross border state delivery.
2. Maintains records, documents, permits and valid licenses for assigned truck/equipment.
3. Drives truck to destination including adverse weather conditions and emergency storm response.
4. Responsible for quantities and correct sizes and types to match shipping and receiving tickets to ensure accurate inventory.
5. Ensure load tickets are signed, dated and submitted on time.
6. Maintains truck log, according to provincial, state and Federal regulations.
7. Maintains phone and/or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
8. Performs daily pre and post trip DOT inspections on truck and trailer. Checks oil, coolant, tires, connections and pins.
9. Performs emergency roadside repair such as changing lights, small mechanical problems, hoses and installs tire chains, etc.
10. Overnight stays required.
11. Properly secures Cargo per DOT regulations.
12. Responsible for safety, DOT and provincial and OHSA awareness.
13. Participates and contributes to company safety programs.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: $22.00 to $27.00 per hour (experience Based) + mileage bonus

Experience:

1. Trucking: 3 years (preferred)

Requirement:

1. Operate manual/standard transmission

Licence/Certification:

1. CDL and/or AZ Commercial License (preferred)
