Salary: $24.50 hourly / 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, Full time

Start Date: Starts as soon as possible

Responsibilities

Tasks:

1. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
2. Load and unload goods
3. Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
4. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
5. Perform brake adjustments
6. Perform emergency roadside repairs
7. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
8. Perform preventive maintenance
9. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
10. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

Credentials

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:

• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
• Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and Specialization:

• Documentation knowledge (Driver logbook, Trans-border documentation)
• Type of trucking and equipment (Tractor-trailer)
• Communication systems experience (Operate GPS and other navigation equipment)
• Transportation/travel experience (Long-haul, Short-haul)
