Transportation Supervisor

The Trucking Supervisor will manage, supervise and monitor fleet operations to ensure on time delivery of feed from the point of supply to our internal farm operations.

The team consists of 18 Class 1 drivers with 10 truck and trailer units operating on a two shift Monday to Friday delivery schedule.

A SNAPSHOT OF SOME OF THE EXCITING THINGS YOU WILL DO:

1. Human Resources Responsibilities
   • Provide daily supervision & direction to drivers
   • Staff recruitment & selection
   • Training of drivers in duties & policies
   • Evaluation of personnel
2. Management & Administrative Responsibilities
   • Establish & maintain work schedules
   • Efficient execution of feed delivery schedule
   • Ensures equipment is maintained in safe condition
   • Implements & maintains preventative maintenance program for operating equipment
   • Arranges repair & maintenance work on equipment with vendors
   • Maintains accurate records of fuel, maintenance and operating expenses
   • Execution of HSE & Feed Assure Feed Safety program for team
   • Ensures team compliance to Maple Leaf Foods bio-security protocol
3. Financial Responsibilities
   • Development and management of operating and maintenance budget
   • Purchases necessary items to efficiently maintain property and equipment
   • Prepare and submit reports

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

1. Possess valid Class 1 Drivers License
2. Experience in a supervisory role in a transportation services setting
3. Proven experience of managing a budget for a fleet operation
4. Experience working in an agricultural setting/industry
5. Knowledge and application of Highway Traffic Act & Regulations
6. Must possess strong skills in:
