Transport Manager

LOCATION: Wigan

JOB TITLE: Transport Manager

PAY: £45,000 pa (Plus company car/allowance)

HOURS: Monday - Friday

Job Description:

Rapid Time Recruit are seeking a Transport Manager on behalf of our client in the Wigan Area who has extensive knowledge in the waste transport industry. This is a permanent position with a very established company.

Main Duties:

1. You will oversee the achievement of the business's budgetary and financial objectives.
2. Offer strong management and leadership by providing effective coaching and mentoring to foster a highly motivated and results-oriented workforce dedicated to delivering exceptional service to customers.
3. Maintain a thorough understanding and compliance with all Health and Safety regulations, ensuring that the company's exemplary safety culture is upheld and enforced. Communicate effectively with all key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to guarantee that accurate and timely information is shared.
4. Manage and develop the Driver Workforce effectively, ensuring all drivers are fully trained, competent, and capable of performing their duties and responsibilities safely and efficiently.
5. Cultivate strong relationships with customers and implement innovative solutions to showcase how we enhance customer operations.
6. You will hold complete and direct responsibility for ISO performance, incident reporting, and incident management.

Must Have:

1. Must hold a National CPC.
2. Years of experience in the waste transport and logistics field.
3. Familiarity with managing SMAS, ISO, FORS, and DVSA Earned Recognition accreditations.
4. Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
5. Knowledge of transport legislation and driver hour regulations in both the UK and EU.
6. Experience in developing and implementing HSE and quality assurance processes and procedures.
7. Proven ability to work with and manage both internal and external subcontractors.
