Job SummaryReporting to the Clinical Services Manager, the Transitions Coordinator coordinates, runs, and evaluates the STEPS (Successful Transitions from Elementary to Post Secondary), OLTS (On-Line to Success), and other transition initiatives by the Regional Assessment and Resource Centre (RARC). The Transitions Coordinator assists in evaluating student documentation and determining eligibility for the programs. They conduct information and training sessions for students, staff, and other individuals regarding RARC's transition programs and other best practices in transitions for students with special education needs. The Transitions Coordinator contributes to the content creation and development of the Transition Resource Guide website, EYES-ON-PSE transition program, and other transition initiatives. They assist in sharing information, promoting projects, and liaising with other partners such as MCU, MEDU, elementary high schools, post-secondary institutions, and other stakeholders. They assist in the coordination of STEPS and OLTS-based research projects at the RARC. The Transitions Coordinator participates in the recruitment and hiring process of transition team members, summer students, and practicum students, and supervises practicum students and occasional employees.
This position designs, develops, oversees, delivers, and evaluates academic resources including programs, workshops, training, and services for students and stakeholders. This position oversees projects related to the development of experiential learning programs and professional development. This position evaluates and researches comparators and best practices in student development and experiential learning. This position also directs, allocates, and supervises the work of other staff.
The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work variable hours on a regular basis, including evenings and weekends. In addition, travel is an inherent part of the position. This position is subject to the Averaging and Travel Time Credit provisions of the USW Local 2010 Collective Agreement.
