Lethbridge Transit has a career-building opportunity for qualified individuals interested in becoming a Transit Fixed Route Operator. The Transit Fixed Route Operator position, under the general leadership and guidance of the Transit Workforce Manager, is responsible for ensuring transit service is consistently delivered in a safe, efficient manner with a deliberate focus on customer service excellence.

STATUS: Permanent
HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week; shift work required.
WAGE: Start Rate: $31.07 per hour (2025 start rate) (first 2080 hours – Hour Threshold)
Job Rate: $34.52 per hour (2025 job rate) (after hour threshold met)
Responsibilities will include:
- Operate assigned bus in a safe, efficient and customer-focused manner.
- Follow all safety and traffic rules while strictly adhering to time schedules.
- Ensure customers are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.
- Carry out job duties to support a safe, healthy, supportive, and productive work environment.
- The ability to work a flexible schedule (days, evenings, weekends).
- Reliable and punctual in reporting for work.
- Perform other related duties as required.

Required for the position:
- A valid class 1, class 2 or class 2 MELT license with a Q endorsement or the ability to successfully obtain Q endorsement.
- All interested applicants must submit a current 5-year Commercial Driver’s Abstract with their application to be considered for this opportunity.
- Driver’s Abstracts dated past 30 days will not be considered.
- All candidates under consideration will also be required to:
- Undergo a complete physical functional needs assessment.
- Complete a Criminal Record Check through Lethbridge Regional Police Services.
