Transaction Services Senior Associate - Financial Services

A career in our Financial Due Diligence practice, within Deals Transaction Services, will provide you the opportunity to help organisations realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute, and realise value from deals. Through data driven insights we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company. Our team assist organisations with both buy side and sell side due diligence. As part of our team, you’ll help us provide both corporate and financial buyers with peace of mind by analysing and validating all the financial, commercial, operational and strategic assumptions being made. Our team specializes in the Financial Services sector, performing due diligence and other M&A activities on companies across the Insurance, Banking & Capital Markets, Asset & Wealth Management and Fintech subsectors. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to help our clients through the different stages of the M&A process.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve business issues, deliver high quality client service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Participate in meetings with top-level management in a wide range of businesses within Financial Services to obtain critical information for due diligence.
2. Develop a comprehensive understanding of targeted companies (e.g., key business drivers, market trends).
3. Undertake in depth financial analysis of client and target financial data to identify deal issues and business value drivers.
4. Prepare key transaction analyses such as Quality of Earnings, normalized net working capital and analysis of debt and debt-like items. Data analytics tools will be utilized to drive efficiencies in data processing and analysis, and to present data effectively.

Our principal focuses as regards this position are in the areas of:

1. Buy-side due diligence;
2. Vendor assistance/due diligence and carve-outs.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

• Solid audit experience at a Senior Associate level.
• A Chartered Accountant Designation (or local equivalent).
• Proven technical and analytical capabilities including proven financial and business performance analysis skills.
• Experience with Financial Services companies.
• When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset.
• Strong communication, presentation and report writing skills.
• Proven engagement team management and leadership skills.
• This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.

PwC BC Region Pay Range Information

The salary range* for this position is $58,400 - $97,500, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual bonus payment. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon your skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.

Given our national recruiting approach, we recruit (and may hire) in other regions and therefore the salary range may differ depending on the work location.
