We are currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Training and Development Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs across our Sawmills and Woodlands operations to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance, aligning with organizational goals and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. You will also monitor KPIs related to training and development while leading initiatives to accelerate the growth of our talent pool. In this role, you will have the opportunity to set and drive strategic initiatives that not only build capacity but promote retention of our workforce.

This role will be based out of Saint John, New Brunswick.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as but not limited to HR, education, or psychology
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a related field
  • Strong understanding of online and in-class training tools
  • Experience with Learning Management systems is considered an asset
  • Self-starter who likes to take ownership of their work and results
  • Customer service focused with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening) internally, with all levels of the organization and externally, with candidates and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Willing to travel (as needed)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, develop and deliver training materials and approaches to improve competency of workforce aligned with strategic objectives
  • Continuous improvement activities related to successful onboarding
  • Oversee our masters programming and other accelerator programs to support our high potential employees
  • Conduct and execute a training needs analysis
  • Bring forward development opportunities on executive presence
  • Participate in program planning and identify solutions to fill training gaps
  • Lead the implementation of a new learning management system and be the power user for the system.
