Explore this exciting opportunity! As a skilled Recruitment/Marketing enthusiast you will promote, educate and attract students and individuals to explore a career in skilled trades on behalf of our Client in the trades industry.

Based in Regina, you will recruit / attend career events, coordinate applicant tracking, create marketing strategies and build long-lasting relationships between Candidates, Employers, Partner Unions and outside Stakeholders.

As Trades Ambassador, you will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with Employers/Contractors and Partner Unions to fill positions in the trades industry.
  • Coordinate meetings with industry and outside stakeholders. Promote Employer consideration to fill employment opportunities with underrepresented groups in the skilled trades, i.e. women, Indigenous peoples, new Canadians, youth, etc.
  • Attend career fairs, trade events and other public recruiting initiatives to attract candidates to explore a career in the trades, as well as promote/connect them with Contractors and Unions offering opportunities. Attend school, industry and location career fairs to promote the unionized construction industry as a great career option.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside stakeholders and career development organizations such as Indigenous organizations, post-secondary educational institutions, workplace training & placement organizations, new Canadian settlement agencies, high schools and school boards, etc.
  • Build marketing strategies, develop and implement a social media program and presence.
  • Manage and maintain the online Applicant Tracking System, conduct preliminary screening discussions with potential applicants and share applications with Unions and Contractors/Employers.
  • Support the Executive Director and employee teams on other initiatives and projects in the office.

As the selected candidate you will bring:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in recruitment and/or marketing
  • Work experience in marketing, recruitment and career development is an asset.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and skilled trades is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and email applications, web applications and social media platforms
  • A motivated, outgoing personality and enjoys meeting many people and making connections.
  • Independent self-starter who works well in teams and builds solid relationships with stakeholders.
  • Willing to travel within Saskatchewan to attend various career fairs and job promotion functions.

Some average physical demands (lifting) may be required for carrying job fair materials, setting up banners and tables for events.

Hours of work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. (37.5 hours per week). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for attending and preparing for career fairs and trade shows.

Occasional travel within the province will be required using your own vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
