Trackwork Engineer-in-Training

We are looking for one Engineer / EIT to work at the intersection of Engineering and Project Management at our Vancouver/Burnaby office. The successful candidate will report into the Rail Infrastructure team; however, responsibilities and opportunities will vary depending on interest, capabilities and career objectives. This role is not limited to trackwork design. Suitable candidates will be agile, self-motivated and interested in pursuing a career in the design, construction and project management for light rail, metro and/or heavy rail transportation networks in Canada and worldwide.

This role will be based in Vancouver, BC.

Expected compensation for this role is between $74,100 - $101,900 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptual and detailed design in Trackwork and Alignment, as well as potential opportunities in other related Rail Systems disciplines.
  • Field engineering and construction support.
  • Coordination of project deliverables and associated time management/teamwork.
  • Multi-disciplinary coordination and communication.
  • Communication with clients, contractors and/or other stakeholders.
  • Assistance with project management tasks such as scheduling and estimating.
  • Attendance at the office (Vancouver or Burnaby) at least twice per week on average.

Requirements:

  • A university degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Computer competency and familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • High competency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good communication skills and soft skills.
