Rate of pay : As per the CUPE Collective Agreement ($26.26)

Term position

Effective immediately until June 30, 2025

Closing date for applications : Midnight, January 21, 2025

Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.

Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications and Abilities :

  • Applicants must be a minimum age of 19 years, have a current Nova Scotia Operator’s License Class 2B with air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driving record and up-to-date medical and vision tests.
  • Good communication skills and demonstrate reliability and high moral conduct.

Responsibilities :

  • Support operations in the Annapolis area.
  • Operate seventy-two passenger school buses with air brakes on assigned routes and extracurricular trips.
  • Responsibility for safety and discipline of passengers.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance including cleaning, washing, and pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.

Training in basic First Aid/CPR and experience operating a school bus on all kinds of roads and during all weather conditions is required.
