Currently, the City of Belleville has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, strategic, and dynamic individual to join our CAO’s Office - Economic Development Division as a Tourism & Events Coordinator. Destination Development is a key strategic theme of the Economic Development Division, with a focus on enhancing the community by investing in public amenities, revitalizing waterfront areas and promoting initiatives that highlight and celebrate the City’s unique culture and quality of life. This position will be responsible for coordination of the Pop-ups on the Bay Program and provide additional support to civic events and seasonal product development as required.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Working with the Economic Development Sector Specialist as the staff liaison, this position will be responsible for the coordination of the Pop-ups on the Bay Program and provide additional support to civic events and seasonal product development projects that highlight our natural landscape, recreation and cultural assets as an attraction for visitors and residents.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pop-ups on the Bay Program
- Provide coordination for all Pop-up’s on the Bay vendors, guests and organizers.
- Manage vendor and partner relationships.
- Liaise with City Staff to ensure all infrastructure and support is in place for all vendors and visitors.
- Create an operating plan that supports the attraction of rotating vendors and site activations.
- Plan, co-ordinate and execute activities, entertainment and experiences in and around the Pop-up area as defined in operating plan.
- Support the delivery of a marketing and communications plan for the program.
- Coordinate the seasonal opening and closing of the Pop-Ups on the Bay program.
- Manage and co-ordinate some aspects of the repairs and maintenance required at the pop-ups site.
- Staff and greet customers at the on-site Discover Belleville booth as required.
Civic Events- Support the coordination of Belleville’s Canada Day Celebrations as required.
- Provide support and assistance in the development and promotion of festive events that launch Belleville’s holiday season as required:
- Downtown District Enchanted Holiday Market
- Belleville’s Festival of Lights
- Belleville’s Santa Claus Parade
- Execute expenditures upon managers approval per project budget.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two-Year College diploma
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s license with safe driving record, to be held and maintained
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Demonstrated good communication skills, taking initiative and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two- or Three-Years College diploma in public relations, event coordination, or business.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Two years demonstrated experience in event and project coordination.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with experience managing multiple projects and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in updating and managing content development on a WordPress platform.
- Experienced in managing and analyzing data using spreadsheets.
- Skilled in using photo editing software/tools.
