Job description

Title: Sr. Test Lead
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 4 Months Contract with 12 Months possible extension.

Job Description:
Responsibilities:

Oversee the quality of the entire application development lifecycle, from planning through delivery.
Optimize resource allocation throughout the testing lifecycle to maximize efficiency.
Plan, manage, and lead the design and execution of comprehensive test strategies, including test plans and scenarios.
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure test strategies align with project objectives.
Establish proactive monitoring processes and create application health dashboards while maintaining focus on detailed execution.
Provide actionable insights on testing and user stories during the development phase to ensure alignment with quality objectives.
Leverage AI and automation tools to improve testing efficiency and team productivity.
Lead, mentor, and coach the testing team to achieve deadlines and uphold quality standards.

Must Have Skills:

In-depth understanding of the end-to-end application development lifecycle, including common pitfalls and areas for quality improvement.
Strong expertise in identifying gaps in user stories and ensuring thorough follow-through with test management processes.
Proven leadership experience managing a team of approximately 10 testers.
Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing tools, particularly within service-oriented architecture environments.
Proficiency in SQL and database testing (including SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access).
Strong project management skills with an emphasis on resource allocation and timeline management.
Significant experience managing the quality of large-scale, complex technical portfolios.
Proficient in unit testing coverage and its impact on the overall testing strategy.
Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

Experience with using AI for enhancing software testing processes.
Familiarity with Java, Curam, and Oracle database environments.

Testing Proficiency: 70% (Automation, API, SQL, Test Automation Frameworks)
Leadership & Communication: 30% (leading, mentoring, and guiding a team of 5-10 testers, Team collaboration, problem-solving, communication)
