Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for assignments of varying scope and complexity in areas of test engineering. They shall be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, able to contribute both within a product development team and a manufacturing environment. Working in close liaison with other Operations Test Engineering Specialists, the successful candidate will support production of various families of products. They shall drive the continuous improvement of production test yields, based on the analysis of existing unit production data, by making recommendations for alteration either to the production processes, test methodology or product design.

In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop Hardware and Software skills in order to support the full range of production test responsibilities including:

  1. Product Test Strategy and Planning: The definition of the production test flow and ESS regime, which meets the requirements of production volume and rate, customer quality requirements, technology requirements and program cost and delivery targets.
  2. Test Design: Test equipment procurement, test equipment and methods development, test fixture design, test equipment commissioning and acceptance, together with associated test documentation such as test procedures and TE support documentation.
  3. Technical Support: Provide leadership in the resolution of test process, test equipment and product performance issues adversely impacting quality, cost or delivery targets.
  4. Training: Test Engineering will provide the necessary technical training to production personnel in the operation of test equipment and associated procedures. In addition, training will also be provided in product specific fault diagnostics.

Qualifications
Experience in troubleshooting electronics with various standard equipment (meters, oscilloscopes, analyzers) is an asset;
Experience and knowledge in software development using one or more of the following languages: CVI, C++, C#, LabView, SQL, TestStand, JTAG;
Experience and knowledge in test equipment and/or hardware development is an asset;
Experience and knowledge in measurement and instrumentation is an asset;
Experience and knowledge in MS Project, ClearCase/ClearQuest, JIRA, Git, SPC is an asset;
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment, with minimum supervision;
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills;
Strong attention to detail;
Disciplined approach to engineering development;
Enthusiastic collaborative contributor, willingness to learn new skills, and strong sense of ownership;

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent.
