Position Summary

The Vice President, Technical Services (PRM) oversees aircraft airworthiness and maintenance to ensure Rise Air achieves operational excellence. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this executive role is a key member of our leadership team, responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, safety, and efficiency across our fleet.

Key Responsibilities and Competencies

1. Oversee aircraft maintenance, planning, and production across multiple locations.
2. Develop a supply chain strategy to optimize inventory and reduce costs.
3. Lead aircraft reliability programs to enhance availability and reduce downtime.
4. Ensure compliance with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and quality assurance programs.
5. Guide fleet planning, including aircraft selection, modification, and retirement.
6. Foster continuous improvement through operational analysis and strategic enhancements.
7. Serve as a primary liaison for Transport Canada and regulatory authorities.
8. Ensure full compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and other industry standards.
9. Drive safety culture and risk management across technical services operations.
10. Build and lead a high-performing technical team with clear succession planning.
11. Work cross-functionally with flight operations, ground services, HR, and Accounting and Finance.
12. Provide strategic guidance on aircraft acquisition, asset management, and retention.

Indicators of Success (Key Performance Indicators)

1. Increased aircraft availability and reliability through optimized maintenance processes.
2. Reduction in maintenance costs while maintaining safety and compliance.
3. Improved turnaround times for parts and maintenance operations.
4. Strong regulatory compliance with zero major infractions.
5. Development and retention of highly skilled technical staff.
6. Effective execution of fleet expansion and retirement strategies.

Key Relationships

1. Reports directly to the President & CEO.
2. Executive representation for Rise Air Board of Directors.
3. Collaborates with Flight Operations, Ground Services, HR, and Training.
4. Serves as a primary contact for Transport Canada and industry associations.
5. Manages relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

1. Extensive leadership experience in aviation.
2. Post-secondary education in business or aviation management.
3. Transport Canada-approved maintenance and technology program completion.
4. Strong expertise in financial and risk management principles.
5. Proven ability to influence, collaborate, and negotiate with stakeholders.
6. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and execution skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance operations software.

Commencement Date

April 1, 2025 or mutually agreed date.
