JOB DESCRIPTION

CONMED is seeking a Territory Manager to add to our highly talented General Surgery sales force! The ideal candidate is competitive, driven, passionate, and has the desire to hustle in the pursuit of excellence. Extraordinary Sales Representatives will be considered for advancement to higher-level positions within the department!

The General Surgery Territory Manager will sell an innovative bag of products to the following call points: General Surgeons, Urologists, OB/GYN, and Colorectal Physicians.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sell products by scheduling sales calls to meet with current and potential customers to fulfill revenue and unit growth objectives assigned by the company on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies by determining relevant factors (e.g., product, competition, and pricing needs) of existing and potential accounts to effectively promote the company's products to appropriate hospital personnel and physicians.
  • With the help of the marketing team, develop innovative programs specific to the regional customer base to drive positive and sustainable growth.
  • Develop action plans (i.e., weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly) by analyzing sales figures and reports to identify the needs of particular accounts and discuss issues with the Regional Business Manager to help the organization achieve its annual sales goals.
  • Determine the needs (e.g., product and pricing), goals, product usage, and types of cases handled by specific customers by meeting with and asking in-depth questions of physicians and other hospital personnel.
  • Observe actual procedures in the operating room of hospital accounts to gain insight into the specific nuances of each physician and each member of the OR staff.
  • Build solution packages by working with relevant CONMED personnel to establish price points that address specific customer's needs while satisfying company guidelines and policies.
  • Respond to customer needs and complaints regarding products and service by developing creative and feasible solutions or working with other related personnel (e.g., Clinical Marketing Specialist, Marketing, Regional Business Manager) to develop optimal solutions.
  • Develop relationships with hospital personnel (e.g., through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within the hospital and to identify key purchasing decision-makers.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms to secure purchasing commitments.
  • Effectively manage evaluation, loaner, and sales sample inventory and return products in a timely manner and according to company policy.
  • Communicate and interact across all levels within a healthcare facility (i.e., Surgeons, OR staff, OR manager, procurement, CEO, COO, CFO, H&S officer, etc.).
  • Build impactful relationships with regional SSOs, Health Authorities, CISSSS/CIUSSS, and GPOs to educate and promote ConMed solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High level of energy, motivation, drive, persistence, initiative, commitment, and professionalism.
  • Excellent time management and prioritizing abilities.
  • 5+ years of prior consistent quota achievement/top performance in Medical Sales (preferred) or B2B Sales.
  • Competitive and focused on achieving goals.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
