Territory Manager - Newfoundland and Labrador

On September 1st, 2023, Saint-Gobain completed the acquisition of Building Products of Canada Corp. ("BP Canada"). With this acquisition, Saint-Gobain takes a logical step to reinforce its leadership in light and sustainable construction in the Canadian market. With Building Products of Canada, Saint-Gobain will be well positioned to better serve Canadian customers, bringing a broader innovative and sustainable range of solutions.

In support of this acquisition, BP Canada has an exciting career opportunity for a Territory Manager in Newfoundland and Labrador.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with customers and overseeing sales within your territory. In your role, you will be dedicated to satisfying customers’ needs and requests, responding to their queries promptly, and aspiring to deliver a positive customer experience. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be customer service oriented. Ultimately, you should be able to grow our business by building successful, long-term client relationships.

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for in this role:

  1. Develop and cultivate solid partnership relations with customers in the territory.
  2. Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market.
  3. Present and manage marketing programs in the territory.
  4. Carry out sales and marketing programs to individual Roofers, Builders, and Retailers in the territory.
  5. Participate in trade shows and in-store clinics.
  6. Conduct product training and sales seminars.
  7. Work with Distributors.
  8. Maintain a territory expense and sales budgets.
  9. Conduct inspections and follow-up on claims files.
  10. Liaison between warranty services and customers.
  11. Maintain up-to-date customer profiles.

Here is what’s important to have to apply:

  1. Post-secondary education in business studies preferred or equivalent skills and/or work experience.
  2. 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, retail, or distribution environment.
  3. Proven sales experience within the building materials, hard goods, and construction industries.
  4. Excellent ability to build relationships.
  5. Strong initiative and superior multi-tasking ability.
  6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  7. Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  8. Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
  9. Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  10. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  11. Ability to travel extensively within the territory.
  12. Strong level of computer skills and various IT computer systems (MS Office, Google, Internal software).
