Summary: Responsible for repair, commissioning, and training of Normet Equipment in a safe and timely manner by performing the following duties.
Duties And Responsibilities
Applies knowledge and abilities to perform technical repairs according to schedule.
Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical problems with the appropriate equipment to determine the most efficient course of action.
Estimates repair costs and obtains authorization prior to beginning work for all repairs.
Recommends and explains additional repairs as appropriate.
Modification and/or repair of vehicle systems including: chassis, driveline, engine, transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics.
Testing and adjusting of all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components and circuits.
Travels to customer locations to complete repairs as directed.
Completes repairs in a timely manner.
Wears necessary safety equipment each day to include hard hats, safety glasses, proper work boots, safety harnesses and any other safety equipment needed for the assigned job.
Acts and interacts professionally and effectively both within a small, dedicated team and while working autonomously, both internally (business) and externally (customers & subcontractors).
Maintains Normet’s quality goals in the manufacturing area by reporting any non-conforming issues. Adds to the overall result by inputting ideas to the Continuous Improvement process.
Finalizes repair order and completes service report in a timely manner. Coordinates with the accounting department to ensure prompt billing of all parts, service and travel time.
Coordinates with the Parts Department to obtain repair items, components and information as needed.
Coordinates with the Parts Department to complete necessary warranty paperwork.
Commissioning of equipment at various customer locations within the region (at times there may be a need to perform these duties in other areas of North America).
Coordinates with the Parts Department for missing items or damaged items discovered during the commissioning process. Completes production report and submits to Manager, Service Cluster.
Offers both startup training and billable training as requested by Manager, Service Cluster.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Education level of Grade 12 or Equivalent
Licensed heavy-duty equipment mechanic preferred
Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
At least 5 years of experience with underground/tunneling equipment
Experience in Wet Shotcreting Equipment and Process is a plus
Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and brake systems
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and at times throughout North America
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
Self-starter, able to work with little supervision
Flexible, proactive, self-motivated and willing to accept new challenges
