About The Team

Cloudforce One is Cloudflare’s threat operations and research team, responsible for identifying and disrupting cyber threats ranging from sophisticated cybercriminal activity to nation-state sponsored advanced persistent threats (APTs). The team is able to analyze unique data points at massive scale and efficiency, synthesizing findings into actionable threat intelligence to better protect our customers.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and versatile technical writer to join us in growing our Cloudforce One Organization. As a Threat Intelligence Technical Writer at Cloudflare, you will play a critical role in translating complex threat intelligence research into clear, concise, and actionable content for a wide range of audiences. Your work will help customers understand emerging threats, and adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), while providing practical mitigation strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing, editing, and publishing intelligence reports, blog posts, briefing content, and technical documentation related to cyber threats and security research.
  • Working with subject matter experts to translate technical analysis into accessible, high-quality written content.
  • Developing and maintaining style guides, templates, and best practices for threat intelligence briefings and publications.
  • Reviewing and refining threat research content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to Cloudflare’s editorial standards.
  • Collaborating with analysts and external partners to contextualize intelligence findings and communicate them effectively to customers and the public.
  • Supporting the social media, editorial, and communications strategy to amplify intelligence content.

Examples of Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of technical copy editing experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical writing, cybersecurity research, intelligence analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging technical content for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cybersecurity researchers and analysts.
  • Understanding of geopolitical issues and their impact on cyber threats.
  • Familiarity with cyber threat intelligence frameworks such as the Cyber Kill Chain, MITRE ATT&CK and Diamond Model.
  • Strong research, proofreading, and editing skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Jira, or similar workflow tools).
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with OSINT research and intelligence collection methodologies.
  • Familiarity with specific threat actor groups, their operations and TTPs.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC GCTI, or similar cybersecurity credentials.
