Work with Chief and Council, Director of Operations and other SFN Departments as needed to obtain an in-depth understanding of all the report requirements.
Conduct thorough research on available funding opportunities for SFN.
Research and prepare or edit existing draft policies for SFN.
Obtain a clear understanding of reporting requirements and compliance guidelines for government grants, contribution agreements, and funding programs.
Review and edit an array of internal policies, conduct research to support new policies, and stay up to date with changes to legislation that should be included within the SFN organization.
Ensure all funding reports meet the necessary criteria, are submitted by the deadline date, and include all supporting documentation.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all funding reports that have been completed and the date submitted to the corresponding Department Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (i.e., communication, administration) or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience in technical writing, preferably for First Nation governments.
Familiarity with government funding programs, grants, and reporting requirements.
Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Possesses exceptional interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
Proficient in using relevant software and tools for report writing (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat).
