As a Technical Trainer at Finning, you'll have the opportunity to design and deliver impactful training programs for Caterpillar products. You'll work with both internal and external customers, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to operate, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot equipment effectively.

For this position, the expected salary range is between $110,000 - $120,000 annually. This range reflects our commitment to providing competitive compensation that aligns with industry standards and your qualifications.

Job Description:
  1. Develop and deliver effective training using a variety of methods, including hands-on training materials and technical documents.
  2. Coordinate movement of engines and training aids, confirm classroom space, and provide cost quotes for customer training.
  3. Complete necessary paperwork for data entry in the training database.
  4. Assist the service department with diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment malfunctions.
  5. Schedule and deliver quality training as required.
  6. Maintain strong relationships with Customer Service Managers, Service Technicians, Technical Communicators, and Caterpillar training personnel.
  7. Ensure all training meets the expectations and needs of participants, Finning, and Caterpillar.
  8. Maintain relevant and current knowledge of all new products.
  9. Develop agendas, objectives, exams, shared course manuals, and presentation materials.
  10. Provide feedback and support to trainees to ensure their success and development.
Qualifications:
  1. 5 to 10 years of related work experience with heavy equipment service (HET or Electrician).
  2. In-depth knowledge of systems and operation of Caterpillar engines and equipment.
  3. Ability to use adult learning techniques and excellent public speaking skills.
  4. Strong time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills.
  5. Solid organizational and customer service skills.
  6. Proficiency with MS Office applications and internal systems.
  7. Ability to communicate clearly and adapt to specific audiences.
  8. Self-motivated with the ability to influence and continue to learn and develop.
  9. Travel required for the role (up to 50% - 60%).
