Job description

Jump Recruitment, on behalf of Virtual Marine, is recruiting a Technical Sales Manager to join their dynamic team driving global sales initiatives. Virtual Marine, headquartered in St. John's, NL, is a Canadian leader in maritime safety, specializing in advanced training simulators. These simulators provide small craft crews with realistic training for high-stakes scenarios that are too dangerous for live practice.

As Virtual Marine expands, we are seeking a dedicated professional to play a senior role in international sales. Reporting to the President and CEO, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving international sales and building global relationships within the maritime, defense, and upstream energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify and engage new enterprise (B2B) customers worldwide.
  2. Present, promote, and sell Virtual Marine's products and custom solutions to existing and potential clients using proven sales methodologies.
  3. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline across sectors such as upstream energy, maritime training, defense, and Coast Guard/Search and Rescue (SAR).
  4. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to revenue recognition.
  5. Conduct market research to inform targeted sales initiatives and support company growth and profitability.
  6. Develop and support an international dealer network to expand market presence.
  7. Collaborate cross-departmentally in an open, transparent environment to achieve company objectives.
  8. Perform additional duties as required.

About You

  1. 5-10 years of sales experience in the maritime, defense, upstream energy sectors or similar industries, with a proven record of sales achievement.
  2. Experience in managing a sales process, as well as in developing sales strategies.
  3. Strong technical knowledge; experience with simulation technology is a plus.
  4. Established expertise in maritime training, upstream energy, defense, and Coast Guard/SAR industries.
  5. Bachelor's degree in business, sales, or a related field.
  6. Proven ability to build and maintain lasting client relationships.
  7. Skilled in contract negotiation and closing complex deals.
  8. Excellent organizational and time management skills for managing multiple accounts and meeting deadlines.
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and social media tools.
  11. Ability to understand and present the product catalogue while discussing custom solutions based on client needs.
  12. Willingness to travel internationally and to comply with security screening requirements.
