Job description

Work Arrangement: This position is classified as Hybrid, and you will be expected to work at our Oshawa Elevation Centre (OEC) or Markham Elevation Centre (MEC) three (3) days per week.

The Role

The Technical Lead is an integral member of the Agile Team within the Propulsion Thermal Management Agile Release Train (ART). This role involves defining user stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to enhance the execution of program priorities while ensuring the conceptual and technical integrity of the team's features or components. The Technical lead is tasked with maximizing the value of the Agile Team's output, acting as the Customer Proxy, and ensuring the team comprehends and implements the solution intent within the business context. This position requires strong collaboration with engineering stakeholders, customers, and the Product Management Team.

The successful candidate will join an Agile Team at CTC as part of the Propulsion Thermal Management ART. This is an individual contributor's role, and no prior team management experience is required.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the agile team's control and diagnostic strategy and plan in the Propulsion Thermal domain

  • Manage and maintain team backlog, including features, stories and bugs

  • Represent team in cross functional meetings

  • Identify and implement efficiency in the areas of process and the product

  • Coordinate various Teams for alignment on development, delivery prioritizes and issues resolution

  • Enable cross functional collaboration with development teams and calibration engineers

  • Coordinate team demos per sprint and PI objectives

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in leading a software scrum team or in the role of Technical Lead.

  • 4+ years of industry experience in embedded software development, including requirements analysis, software develop and deployment

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering

  • Ability to read and review complex algorithms in C and Simulink

  • Ability to investigate issues based on limited information

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with the scrum team members and cross-functional teams;

  • Organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail

  • Experience with Git, Gerrit, Jenkins and Atlassian tool chains

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
