Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical AI Governance Specialist to lead and drive governance initiatives across critical areas, including Privacy, Risk Management, Process Improvement, Data Governance, Data Management, and the AI Lifecycle. This position is key to ensuring that our AI systems align with organizational values, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards. The successful candidate will collaborate across various departments to manage trust risks, support AI governance processes, and ensure that AI projects adhere to company-wide standards.
The role will require both strategic and technical expertise, as well as strong consulting and interpersonal skills to work effectively with leadership teams and individual contributors from diverse technical backgrounds. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between high-level business goals and deep technical insights, ensuring alignment across teams to deliver successful AI governance initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of AI governance and data management strategies to enhance organizational processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, compliance, and engineering, to implement privacy and AI governance standards.
- Manage trust risk assessments to ensure data used, models developed and intended purpose of AI solutions all comply with our Trusted AI policies, privacy and security standards.
- Facilitate the prioritization and resolution of governance issues in AI projects.
- Assess and drive risk postures across a diverse set of AI systems and technologies.
- Assess risk using a mix of international risk standards and frameworks to further develop Autodesk’s quantitative and qualitative risk factors.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of AI governance and risk management efforts, including actionable insights and recommendations.
- Develop frameworks to evaluate and continuously improve AI model transparency, fairness, and security and develop recommended risk optimization.
- Drive the integration of AI governance best practices into ongoing product development efforts, ensuring scalability and compliance with global standards.
- Partner with the risk owners to drive alignment on the remediation timelines and expectations for risk plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Solid understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ethical AI frameworks.
- Excellent ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business strategies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance management, technology, data governance, privacy, or AI lifecycle management.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and driving governance initiatives across multiple domains.
- Strong knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools and methodologies.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to handle complex projects and provide clear, concise reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and direct exposure with industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO, and GDPR compliance standards.
- Certifications like CISSP, CIPP, CRISC, or CISA are a plus.
- Consulting experience or experience working directly with leadership teams to develop and implement AI governance strategies.
- Strong understanding of Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) and related risk management practices.
