Team Leader/ Associate Account Executive, Commercial Risk

This role is office-based in our Vancouver office.

The salary range for this position is $73,400 - $100,000. The actual salary will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity.

What the day will look like

  • Lead a team of Associate Account Executives to help Account Executives drive new business and deliver client service excellence by managing a team of support staff responsible for administrative service functions.
  • Meet established objectives, service standards, productivity, and quality through leadership, direction, and motivation established by and for the team.
  • Align and work closely with colleagues to deliver Aon’s 3x3 plan.
  • Demonstrate and live the Aon Values (Committed, United, and Passionate) with a positive work attitude, good work ethic, and help cultivate a positive workplace culture.
  • Coach and mentor by focusing on individual development and goal achievement by fostering a proactive and constructive environment.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to the team to enhance product/service skills and knowledge.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with colleagues within and outside the branch by liaising with various broking and branch teams within Aon when required.
  • Assist with the hiring process when necessary.
  • Track and manage outstanding receivables among all team members.

As an Associate Account Executive

  • Under the direction of the Account Executive, service existing clients' portfolios within the Commercial Risk management group.
  • Work on a wide variety of clients, servicing existing programs, identifying specific client risk exposures.
  • Lead the client renewal process by collaborating with all members of the client service team to ensure coverage is secured and client deliverables are met.
  • Receive and process client requests and review documentation for routine policy changes, additions, deletions, or cancellations.
  • Prepare client service summaries, program reports, and handle client accounts receivables.
  • Assist with establishing account-specific service plans and delivery approaches which support coverage solutions.
  • Explore with the client opportunities for expanded Aon products or services.
  • Assist Account Executives in new business initiatives through tasks such as coordinating dissemination of marketing material, prompting regular contact with prospects, assisting in developing new business strategies, and account penetration.

How this opportunity is different

This role is a great blend of leadership but also hands-on client interactions. You will work with clients as well as lead a team of Associate Account Executives who all work directly with commercial risk clients and support the Account Executive team.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 7-10 years of Commercial Risk experience.
  • Prior leadership experience is preferable.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks by managing time and attention effectively while performing numerous duties or activities.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • BC Level 2 license required.
  • CIP, FCIP, and CAIB are preferable, or working towards.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Adobe.
