Summary

The Tax Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the company's tax compliance, reporting, and planning initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and helping drive tax strategy. Work closely with other departments to ensure that financial data is accurate and timely and provide financial guidance and support as needed.

In the early stage of company establishment, the Tax Accounting Manager will contribute significantly to the establishment of MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC. Various operating standards and systems will be established to support the construction of buildings/facilities/equipment and to manage investment and a budget. After establishing a corporation, the Tax Accounting Manager will oversee the operation of the determined standards and systems, with the possibility of improvements as necessary.


ABOUT MOBIS NORTH AMERICA ELECTRIFIED POWERTRAIN, LLC

MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of BSA and PE systems, which are vital parts to produce Hyundai/Kia electric vehicles, based on state-of-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.


Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)


  • Prepare detailed workpapers to support federal income tax compliance in a timely and accurate manner. Such workpapers may include depreciation, intangible property rights, investments, revenue recognition, fringe benefit analyses, employee stock compensation, etc.
  • Prepare detailed workpapers to support government tax incentive programs, such as Inflation Reduction Act related tax credits. Analyze the applicable incentive programs and how to maximize the value of such programs.
  • Prepare detailed workpapers to support state income tax compliance in a timely and accurate manner. Such workpapers may include state apportionment workpapers (sales, property, and payroll), state adjustments, etc.
  • Prepare federal and state income tax returns, including amended returns.
  • Oversee the company's sales and use tax compliance process, including analyzing taxability, managing sales tax audits, and ensuring compliance with state/local tax regulations in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage the company's response to tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Work closely with external auditors, tax consultants, and internal teams to resolve tax issues. Ensure proper documentation is maintained to support tax filings and positions taken.
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules to support the annual and quarterly worldwide tax provision including the SEC Form 10K and 10Q tax footnotes.
  • Participate as a team member with the broader tax team to ensure proper reporting of mergers & acquisitions, cross-border transactions, equity transactions, and a wide variety of other tactical and planning ideas.
  • Monitor and analyze tax regulatory and compliance developments and tax law changes and document the impact to the Company, including federal and state.
  • Research and prepare responses to states notices.
  • Develop and implement process improvements.
  • Develop an understanding of Microsoft businesses and internal financial systems and tools.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)


Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or related field AND 4+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience
  • OR Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Taxation or related field; J.D.; LL.M. in Taxation) AND 3+ years tax compliance, tax accounting, tax audit management or tax advisory experience
  • 4+ prior years of federal and state income tax experience in a Big 4 firm or a large corporation, including ASC 740.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Business letters and MS Office
  • Knowledge of applicable accounts receivable/general ledger system and procedures
  • SAP experience preferred but not mandatory

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Finance or Accounting Field
  • Years of finance experience in the automotive industry
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax department

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • CPA preferred but not mandatory
