The Systems Engineering, Specialist will support the implementation of workstreams that assess the current state of the organization, drive continuous improvement and increase organizational effectiveness in an agile setting. They will use analytical thought to contribute to enterprise strategic outcomes.
You'll be responsible for:
- Ensuring a great customer experience and service availability in support of Service Level Agreements (SLA) and Service Level Objectives (SLO).
- Designing, building, configuring, maintaining and supporting infrastructure and services in a hybrid-multi cloud environment comprising of SaaS, PaaS and IaaS.
- Use of automation tooling and methods to build and manage environments, systems, services and workloads.
- Monitoring system health, performance and capacity, including management of system alerts/notifications using observability and service management tooling.
- Creating and maintaining a capacity plan and actioning it to ensure service continues to perform optimally.
- Ensuring systems and software are current, and compliant with Interac and industry best practice and standards including vulnerability and patch management policies.
- Managing system or service related incidents through to restoration, resolution, retrospectives, Root Cause Analysis and procedural updates as required.
- Building and maintaining technical documentation & operating manuals for systems, services and environments as required.
- Ensuring the integrity of fundamental infrastructure operations (availability, monitoring, backup/recovery, capacity) in support of Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and security by design.
- Coordinating with vendors for escalated support issues, while effectively communicating with internal and external business partners and stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining the departmental ISO Program including policies, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinating the department's information technology-related aspects of annual or biennial MSA and ISO audits, including evidence gathering and reporting.
- Conducting regular reviews of system and service vulnerability and risk assessments in line with security standards and guidelines and facilitating remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Adopting, implementing and operationalizing best practices with the goal of great customer experience.
You bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT and/or 3+ years of equivalent IT working experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and technical support skills.
- Ability to thrive in strict change-controlled and process-driven environments.
- 3+ years of experience in managing Azure & AWS cloud-based workloads including compute, storage, DB and platform services.
- 3+ years experience managing VMware core components, including vCenter and ESX.
- 3+ years experience and deep knowledge of RedHat Linux and Windows Servers.
- Knowledge and experience supporting an ISO27001 governed ISMS practice.
- Knowledge and experience in managing and troubleshooting infrastructure: Dell, HP, Pure Storage.
- Experience with Active Directory sites and services (including ADFS), Azure AD Connect, EntraID, Azure AD, AD Certificate Services, Exchange Server, and MS SQL.
- Knowledge of backup technologies and procedures such as Dell Data Domain and Veeam.
- Experience with Azure services including M365, Azure AD/EntraID, Azure Virtual Desktop, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Conditional Access Policies, Rights Management, ExpressRoute.
- Knowledge of Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence); user management, site creation, project creation, workflows.
- Curiosity and logical thinking about solving technology, process or procedural challenges in a team environment.
- ITIL and Project Management foundational knowledge is an asset.
- Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
