Job description

Longboard’s IT systems play an integral part in our success, driving efficiency in our manufacturing processes and providing the tools we need to deliver Radical Client Care. As our Systems Administrator, you will be a crucial member of our team, responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of Longboard’s network infrastructure, computer systems, phones, enterprise applications, and servers. In this role, you’ll deliver exceptional support to internal and external users, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement scalable solutions that align with the evolving needs of our business.

What You Will Do:

  • Monitor and maintain servers and network infrastructure to consistently ensure system security and uptime.
  • Monitor network devices to ensure the highest level of security and system health and that backups are completed consistently and securely.
  • Provide support in the development of new servers, hardware and software as needed.
  • Manage software licensing for our servers and software.
  • Install system software, patches and upgrades, as required.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity issues.
  • Manage company telephones including VOIP and Mobile.
  • Perform regular audits and configurations of systems.
  • Actively monitor servers and network for any issues and proactively perform preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and issues that come through via email, phone or ticketing system in a timely and professional manner.
  • Timely updating of support tickets and asset information.
  • Participate and contribute to service improvement plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology diploma/degree from a recognized institution or a related field.
  • Network and/or security certification(s) (e.g. MCSE, CCNA, MCITP)
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting networks and security-related technologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English in person and via phone with peers and management.
  • Expertise in one or more specialized areas of IT such as Microsoft Administration, AWS Administration, and Google Administration.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills in a multi-user environment.
  • Understanding networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Experience with Data Cabling / Computer Facilities maintenance.
  • Proven skills in PC and printer repair, troubleshooting, deployment, and liquidation.
