About BNA O&M General Partnership

BNA O&M General Partnership (BNAOM), a partnership of ACS Infrastructure Canada, Fluor Canada, and Aecon Group Inc., is seeking candidates for the Operations and Maintenance of the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.

Bridging North America (BNA) was selected to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the CAD $6.4 billion Gordie Howe International Bridge project for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA) – a Public-Private-Partnership (P3). BNAOM is the OMR entity managing the Operations, Maintenance, and Rehabilitation of the Project for a term of 30 years.

When completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. The project includes a bridge and border crossing spanning the Detroit River and connecting Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by linking Interstate 75 and Interstate 96 in Michigan with the new extension of Highway 401 (Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway) in Ontario.

Job Summary

The Database & System Administrator will report to the Toll & System Manager, or other such person as may be designated by the CEO, and is responsible for maintaining, securing, and operating the project and BNAOM databases, systems, and servers and ensuring that data is correctly stored and retrieved. The Database & System Administrator directly supports and assists BNAOM senior management to plan and mobilize BNAOM for the Interim Operation and Maintenance period and the Operation, Maintenance and Rehabilitation period of the project.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the company's IT systems and technologies in general
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the architecture and operation of specialized systems:
  • Toll Collection System (including PCI-DSS and SOC2 compliance)
  • Intelligent Transport System
  • Security and Access Management System
  • Instrumentation and monitoring system for structures
  • Electrical distribution monitoring and Building Automation System
  • Asset Information Management System
  • Maintenance Management System
  • Financial and accounting management system
  • Emergency Management System
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the architecture and operation of backend components:
  • Local Area Network (including Network Monitoring Systems)
  • Local servers (Windows and Linux)
  • Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Docker and Kubernetes)
  • Cloud platforms and services (Fabric, Power Platform, Azure, AWS and OCI)
  • Database administration, queries, security, backup and optimization (Oracle, MS SQL Server and MariaDB)
  • Security and backup tools
  • VoIP and telephony systems (Cloud and on-premises PBX)
  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Website administration
  • Advise management on the effectiveness of planned or utilized solutions and make recommendations for upgrading or improving systems
  • Select and manage external consultants and subcontractors as needed to provide specialized services and support
  • Coordinate and supervise service and equipment suppliers to identify and resolve non-conformities during systems implementation
  • Assist and train staff on the use of systems and equipment
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reports in accordance with the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Define network access rules and implement security measures to keep our company's networks and systems safe from unwanted intrusion
  • Participate in safety, quality and environmental audits to ensure compliance
  • Participate in drafting responses to technical issues affecting operations, maintenance or rehabilitation
  • Support the Toll and System Manager with budget reviews and anticipated maintenance needs
  • Play an active role in the continuation of the safety culture on the project
  • Complete safety audits and advance reporting as required
  • Document and report all injuries and any incidents
  • Analyze situations, identify, and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by the CEO or the Toll & System Manager

REQUIREMENTS

  • University or college diploma in computer science or information management systems from a recognized institution
  • Minimum 5 years of recognized relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of information management systems, systems integration, networks, cloud computing and computer hardware
  • Recognized expertise in toll collection system, intelligent transportation system, asset management, maintenance management, security, accounting and office automation
  • IT Certification e.g., MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, CCNA, etc. an asset
  • Ability to express oneself in English
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel and be admissible into the United States.
