SUMMARY:
The SVP, Business Development (US) is responsible for all US and Canadian sales activities, including the management of BD Directors and Key Account Managers for the US and Canada. The position is expected to drive business growth in the region through the identification, evaluation, recommendation, and negotiation of multiple value-added development and manufacturing contracts.
We are looking for a proven Business Development Executive with great energy, leadership, and initiative to drive team performance and grow our business in North America. You will formulate and execute a strategy to maximize business growth. This role works in partnership with Business Development Operations and Marketing teams.
The candidate will be a high-impact individual capable of driving outstanding business results, employee engagement, and team development. Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer and aligning to the global strategy, the successful candidate will develop and implement plans to achieve business development objectives. Fully responsible for developing and managing the team to generate revenue and achieve individual team and organizational goals.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all North American sales; meeting annual and (future year) forecasted sales and revenue targets
- Establish contact and develop proposals with prospective and existing clients that meet target profiles and revenue targets
- Build robust meeting/call plans for individual territories in region with specific KPIs and metrics
- Organize, facilitate, and attend site visits with prospective clients, setting agendas, coordinating team participation, and leading discussions
- Follow up with diligent feedback and strategies to address any concerns
- Build and sustain effective relationships and alliances, both internally and externally to ensure that business opportunities are identified, analyzed, and pursued in a timely manner; consolidate into relationship management system, organizing and tracking prospects and partnerships
- Responsible for negotiation of Strategic Account Agreements
- Develop, nurture and maintain a positive, constructive, and trusting working relationship with members of relevant internal teams
- Develop and execute regional sales plans, achieving annual sales targets
- Identify, open, lead, and close business development deals with new and existing clients; promote company visibility, growth, and profitability
- Provide market intelligence acquired through sales initiatives to business development and other cross-functional teams
- Coordinate both internal and external technical, legal and/or financial due diligence activities regarding specific business opportunities
- Represent the company at trade shows, community and/or business meetings
- Implement strategies aimed at increasing revenue and market share in the target region
- Responsible for building and increasing the business pipeline for the region
- Responsible for managing the business development team in the region
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts (MSA, CSA, partnership agreements, etc.) for clients
- Serve on pertinent Joint Steering Committees, member of the Global Business Development team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant scientific discipline (Chemistry, Biology); MS or PhD is preferable
- Dynamic, hands-on professional with 10+ years of proven success driving business development and sales within the biologics CDMO or closely aligned sectors
- Previous experience in contract negotiation required
- Previous experience working in the biologics (CDMO) industry required
COMPENSATION RANGE:
$270,160.00 – $371,470. annually
