Role Overview

ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Sustainability Analyst to support the newly created ABS sustainability function. The position is located in our DeForest office with hybrid work options. The Sustainability Analyst has primary accountability for ensuring ABS emissions metrics are accurately tracked and reported in line with corporate compliance requirements, while also supporting the development of models to monetize beef and dairy sustainability attributes based on genetic innovation.

You Will

  • Manage the acquisition, aggregation, and analysis of data from ABS business operations to support required compliance reporting to Genus, working closely with the Genus sustainability and environment team.
  • Develop and implement required processes, ensuring they are formally documented in accordance with regulatory and Genus requirements.
  • Work with ABS operations and production managers to understand contributions to Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
  • Develop reporting and metrics to track ABS’s progress towards meeting emissions targets and provide continuous updates to the Bovine Executive Leadership Team (BELT) for decision-making purposes.
  • Define and track Scope 3 emissions strategies and processes to meet Genus reporting needs.
  • Track progress and outcomes of global sustainability projects, propose new projects to address emissions targets, and oversee models translating genetic improvements into emissions reductions for Genus reporting.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the sustainability regulatory environment in the UK and major ABS markets.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in sustainability reporting frameworks and ensure ABS data alignment.
  • Lead assurance activities of ABS sustainability data during audits and maintain data in an auditable manner.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support ABS sustainability messaging based on sustainability reporting.
  • Support the development of tools and processes for monetizing beef and dairy sustainability attributes. Uphold the Genus core values, mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Climate Science, Sustainability, or a related field. Advanced Degree (MS) preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with sustainability data.
  • Strong background in data acquisition and analysis for sustainability reporting.
  • Knowledge of global sustainability reporting credentials and frameworks (e.g., SBTi, GHG Protocol, EUDR, TCFD, etc.).
  • Fluent in English.
  • Background in agriculture and understanding of sustainability concepts in cattle production is a plus.
  • Experience working effectively across multiple business layers, cultures, and geographies.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
