INTRO

Location: Macassa Mine, Kirkland Lake, ON

Rotation: 7/7 Schedule, 12 hour shifts

This role is not a Camp Based opportunity.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based at the Macassa Mine, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Surface Utility Operator 4 to join our Surface Operations team.

The surface operations encompass the civil operation requirements for the Mine. It is not limited to but includes, operating the backfill plant to produce paste for underground operations and QA/QC on paste strengths, cement truck driving, small equipment operation (skidsteer, forklift etc.) as well as general labourer tasks including seasonal construction and preparation (winterisation) to ensure the site surface activities support and anticipate the needs of the Mine site operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Perform role consistent with the Health & Safety Training Classification Guideline Surface Operations
2. Safely operate small equipment, and cement trucks in support of site services operations.
3. General Labour activities including shovelling snow, spreading sand, grass cutting, brushing etc.
4. Borehole operation
5. QA/QC of borehole operations
6. Housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and clear working environment for all.
7. Working as a team player as well as individually.
8. Communicate effectively
9. Support the smooth running of the mine, appreciating that is our role.
10. Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Our ideal candidate has:

1. Computer skills and ability to learn new programs
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) are essential.
3. Valid and clean G class License (Minimum).
4. High level of motivation.
5. Honest and confidential.
6. Pro-active, self-starter capable of working in a small team of professional operators.
7. Organized and neat record keeping
