Compensation: $3,000.00 - 3,500.00 monthly + Room and Board.

Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Support Specialist to provide dedicated support to a pleasant young female individual. She would like a nice young couple or single female with no kids. She would prefer to live in the SW area between Chinook and Southcentre Mall. The individual's bedroom and bathroom should be on the main level. She has degenerative osteoarthritis in her knees which has difficulty walking stairs, but is able to walk short distances.

This role involves assisting with community outings, daily activities, and appointment management. The ideal candidate will be skilled in working with individuals with developmental disabilities and excel in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. The individual has a day program Monday to Friday and utilizes Access Calgary.
2. Accompany the individual on outings as she enjoys going to the mall, movies and swimming. She is very social and gets along with others, enjoys games and puzzles.
3. Client experiences seizures therefore she is on a very strict medication schedule.

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in Rehabilitation or Social Sciences, or at least 2 years of experience working with developmental disabilities.
2. Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR is (required upon interview) and Medication Administration certification.
3. Current police clearance check is (required upon interview).
4. Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a minimum $2 million liability insurance.
5. Support home must have $2 million liability insurance.

Preferred Skills:

1. Strong interpersonal skills and a cooperative approach to teamwork.
2. Ability to handle varying behavioral needs with empathy and professionalism.
