The Opportunity:

Our Major Projects group within WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector supports clients from coast to coast. This group provides project management, project controls, construction management, and supply chain services to our major projects in the mining, energy, industrial, and power markets across the country. The team ensures consistent project delivery for all clients regardless of project location or market.

To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Surveyor to join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) team at one of our offices in Cambridge or Kitchener, Ontario.

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain Management, this position will be responsible for the inspection of equipment and material for various projects, specifically in a CSA N299 / ASME III NCA 4000 environment.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Clearly understand SQS procedures/workflows and how they relate to Client-specific and/or project requirements.
  • An ability to communicate complex technical information to a wide range of audiences internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate capability to assess the performance of processes including Visual inspection, Dimensional inspection, Documentation Review, NDT, Hardness Testing, Surface finish, Pressure testing, Welding, Heat Treatment.
  • Demonstrate understanding of QAQC standards and capability to perform quality surveillance of suppliers manufacturing components for CANDU reactors.
  • Capable of interpreting specifications, drawings, and quality plans.
  • Advise and report on circumstances which may result in deviations from client contractual requirements, including additional time expenditure on assignments.
  • Review and recommend opportunities for improvements to contractor documentation.
  • Experienced in auditing suppliers.
  • Manage priorities and assignments to adapt deliverables to project requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure vendor compliance to document requirements, Codes, Standards, and Regulations.
  • Report assignment activities accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with defined requirements.
  • Manage and report any NCRs or corrective actions that arise due to suppliers' performance or QA issues.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Good knowledge of quality surveillance requirements applicable to major equipment procured for nuclear power generation facilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in inspection/quality surveillance preferably in a CSA N299 / ASME III NCA 4000 environment.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Welding and shop fabrication experience.
  • CWB Level II or III Welding Inspector.
  • ASME III training.
  • Current external Auditor certification.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and report writing skills.
  • Valid certification (at least level II) in NDT (MT, PT, UT, RT interpretation).
  • Must have a valid driving license and ability to travel freely within Canada.
