Our client is a Canadian crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company, focused on long-term growth through an aggressive program of exploration, development, production, and acquisition who strives to lead the industry in innovation and operational excellence. They are currently seeking a Supervisor, Production Accounting to join their team and contribute to their success.
Position Overview: Reporting to the Team Lead, Production Accounting, the Supervisor will manage a team of production accountants, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and the continuous improvement of accounting processes. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a focus on enhancing team performance, streamlining workflows, and to drive continuous improvement and process automation to increase operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and provide guidance to a team of 9 production accountants, promoting teamwork and development.
Collaborate with other production accounting supervisors to meet departmental objectives.
Review well, royalty, and facility charges, along with other master data setups within the production accounting system.
Oversee the review and posting of journal vouchers, ensuring adherence to CSOX and internal control standards.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
Lead the testing and implementation of system upgrades and new releases in production accounting systems.
Qualifications:
15+ years of full-cycle production accounting experience with Alberta or BC oil and gas properties.
Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams of production accountants.
Experience with large gas plants and complex, interconnected delivery systems.
Advanced proficiency in Metrix and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and other advanced functions.
Familiarity with ProdView, Pro-Monitor, Pro-Tend, and LandRite is an asset.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a self-starter mentality and team-oriented approach.
Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) certification is required.
A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business is an asset.
