About Potash

The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon. BHP’s CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles. First production is planned for late 2026.

Work Location

This role will be based out of BHP’s corporate office in Downtown, Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be initially 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, transitioning to a shift rotation at a future determined date.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Supervise working of all Integrated Operation (IO) control panels and provide appropriate guidance to all crew employees to ensure optimal level of performance.
  • Supervise routine IO procedures. Manage day-to-day operating processes. Delegate tasks to boost performance and facilitate company growth.
  • Oversee and improve end-to-end Mine/Mill processing production performance and operating conditions to increase recovery, achieve production targets and optimize inputs.
  • Monitor IO control productivity and report on performance, making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
  • Conduct performance reviews for each employee within your control team.
  • Administer all employee schedules and provide training to subordinates as per requirement.
  • Operate electronic or computerized control panel from the central control room to monitor and optimize physical and chemical processes for several processing units.
  • Interface with production Mine/Mill operations team to support quality and continuous process improvement.
  • Manage process upsets/problem-solving and interface with the Integrated Scheduling team to ensure production targets and schedule are met.

About You

  • Previous experience as an operations supervisor or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience implementing operational processes.
  • Knowledge of operational principles and policies.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess and solve problems.
  • Proficient with computer and information technology.
  • Previous leadership experience.
