Supervisor, Loss Prevention
The Supervisor, Loss Prevention plays a critical role in the daily oversight of Loss Prevention operations and personnel in their assigned stores. The Supervisor provides leadership support to the Loss Prevention Manager, Store Management, Associates and directly leads and trains a team of Loss Prevention Investigators. The Supervisor reinforces the organization's core values and supports overall store compliance to company policies and effective execution of internal and external loss investigations. The Loss Prevention Supervisor coordinates and oversees the execution of Associate Training and Store Audit Programs to assist the organization in effectively addressing profit loss. The Supervisor must be able to assess risk exposures, provide leadership, maintain open communication at all times and develop effective relationships with all internal and external business partners.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Supervise team of Loss Prevention Investigators. Effectively schedule the LP team to ensure adequate coverage at all times. Ensure LP duties are completed to department standards.
- Serve as a business partner in generating, analyzing and communicating reports related to the organization's stock shortage performance, internal and external investigations, and fraud prevention objectives.
- Review inventory accuracy and shortage controls across store environment to determine risk exposures and trends and provide recommendations to achieve store goals.
- Communicate store audit results to store management team to address operational opportunities and improve operational excellence.
- Ensure store maintains and is compliant with all Health and Safety related in-house functions. Ensure incident reports, training, and safety measures are completed in a reliable and timely fashion in accordance to Holt Renfrew standard.
- Collaborate with store teams and departments to communicate Loss Prevention directives and Merchandise Protection Standards. Maintain a strong relationship with the visual team and Manager.
- Partner with Store Operations on inventory cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy levels and drive stock loss investigations to support the execution of shrink reduction strategies and fraud prevention.
- Collaborate with store teams and support the LPM with creating a Security and Safety plan for each store event and the execution of the plan at the time of the event.
- Oversee the review of exception-based reports to identify policy infractions and initiate internal investigations. Work with Manager, Investigators, and Human Resource Team to investigate any actionable information arising from the reports.
- Conduct internal and external Loss Prevention investigations in collaboration with law enforcement and other related agencies to mitigate loss due to theft and fraud.
- Lead, motivate and retain teams of high performing employees. Provide ongoing coaching, recognition, and development to all direct reports.
- Ensure compliance with privacy policies, regulations, and cyber security measures.
The ideal candidate:
- Degree or diploma in Law Enforcement or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of progressive Loss Prevention experience in a high-volume, fast-paced retail environment.
- Positive, high-energy team player with proven leadership capabilities who takes initiative, accountability, and delivers results through others.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Formal training in WZ interview techniques or other related interviewing and interrogation techniques.
- Experience leading change in a rapidly growing business environment.
- Current Provincial Security Guard License.
- Standard First Aid, CPR OPA Level II.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and aptitude for system-based tools.
